Dr Thatte Fellowship Rules and Regulations

  1. The applicant must have been a member of the ISSH for at least 2 years, currently residing and working in India.
  2. The applicant must be within seven years of passing their highest qualification. The eligible qualifications are: MS/DNB Orthopaedics, M.Ch/DNB Plastic Surgery, M.Ch/ FNB Hand Surgery.
  3. Past recipients are not eligible to apply.
  4. The application, along with a CV and Cover Letter, should be sent by email to issh.fellowships@gmail.com and must be received by June 30, 2024.
  5. The applicant must be registered for the ISSHCON and present at the GBM at the time of the announcement of the fellowship.
  6. A letter of acceptance from the host centre abroad for a period of 4 – 6 weeks is necessary for the application.
  7. Incomplete applications may be summarily rejected. Furnishing false information in the application will invite a penalty as decided by the Executive Committee of the ISSH.
  8. The awardee will receive a letter of selection which they may utilise for finalising the fellowship itinerary with the overseas centre(s). Said plan must be informed to the Executive Committee of the ISSH (via email to the Secretary), before the travel dates. The awardee can then also request to avail 50% of the Fellowship amount before travel.
  9. The awardee is expected to complete the Fellowship before the subsequent ISSHCON. Any inability to do so has to be informed to the Executive Committee of the ISSH with valid reason(s). The EC may accept or reject these reasons and reserves the right to impose a penalty.
  10. Failure to complete the fellowship and NOT informing the EC of the same can result in severe action against the awardee.
  11. The Fellow must register for and attend the subsequent ISSHCON to present a report of their experiences and to receive the Certificate with Fellowship amount.
